As August arrives in the city that rainfall forgot (and we've loaned all our mosquitoes to Edmonton in the bargain, apparently), the languid pace of the NHL's summer allows us a chance to examine some of last year's work from the best forwards on the Jets. In today's installment, we'll put the seven current locks for the club's top nine under the microscope.
Jets Logos Unveiled

The Jets kicked off the process of merchandizing this afternoon with the unveiling of the team's new logos and the first sales of gear at the MTS Centre. The full compliment of team marks and logos can be seen at the club's website. There's nothing that really knocks my socks off, but I'll freely admit I might not be the target demographic, and in any case I suspect they'll sell a few units tonight. Thoughts?
Blake Wheeler - Arbitration Case

The Jets have one player eligible for arbitration this summer, with Blake Wheeler having a scheduled hearing on August 3rd. Wheeler joined the team in February of 2011 after a trade that sent the 24 year old winger from Boston along with Mark Stuart in exchange for Rich Peverly and Boris Valabik. The Minnesota native managed 17 points in 23 games for the Thrashers, and will be expected to play top-six minutes for Winnipeg this coming year.
Ben Maxwell re-signs

The Jets added another player to the potential roster yesterday with the re-signing of former Hab farmhand Ben Maxwell. Acquired by the organization in the Brent Sopel deal, Maxwell was a RFA until inking a one year, two way deal for 715,000.
