Redemption time. After what could easily be considered the worst/most pathetic/most disappointing Jets outing all season a mere three days ago, the boys have a chance tonight to show not only the Panthers, but themselves that the debacle Tuesday night was nothing more than a fluke.

The Visor Problem

By now we have all seen it. On Tuesday night, New York Ranger Marc Staal took a deflected clapper from Philadelphia Flyer Kimmo Timonen right in the eye resulting in a rather gruesome, a very scary injury. (See video below if you can stomach it)

It's time something was done to end these senseless injuries, and I have an idea that just might work.

The Jets Next Five

The Jets are riding a tidal wave of confidence.  A three game win streak, above .500, and currently sitting in 8th in the Eastern Conference.  Things are going to be very positive around Winnipeg for the next couple days. It’s vital to remember that there are ups and downs throughout an NHL season, so the Jets need to keep their focus and continue to move forward, not dwell on the past.

What I am about to say is a phrase that is extremely overused, especially this season, but I truly feel it to be true right now.  

The Jets next five games are the most important games of the season.

They set up as follows:

March 2nd - vs. Washington

March 5th - @ Florida

March 7th - @ Tampa Bay

March 8th - @ Florida

March 10th - @ New Jersey

Re-Alignment and the Winnipeg Jets

Well it’s about time. Finally, after spending the last two seasons in the distant Southeastern Division, the Winnipeg Jets and their fans are starting to hear some information regarding the NHL’s pending re-alignment.

Over the weekend, CBC’s Elliotte Friedman tweeted out what appears to be the final (although not yet finalized) re-alignment proposal that will take place next season.

What Just Happened? Jets Blueline Injury Woes

Remember how wonderful things were looking on the blue line about a week ago? Zach Bogosian was back, Byfuglien was healthy, Redmond was looking spectacular, and it looked like the Jets had pieces to move in their search for another man up front.

Flash forward a mere 7 days and suddenly the Jets have turned to Julian Melchiori for backup as the injury bug has invaded the Winnipeg locker room.
