The Winnipeg Jets were their worst enemy as they almost blew a 5-1 lead over the Minnesota Wild. They would hold on to win 5-4 over the Wild, much to the relief of Jets fans. Tonight was also a record setting night for Blake Wheeler, as he broke Donald Audette's 7 game point streak by having points in 8 consecutive games.

Byfuglien boards Pominville; could Player Safety Dept. be calling?

Late in Sunday night's entertaining and impressive 5-4 Winnipeg Jets victory over their division rival the Minnesota Wild, Dustin Byfuglien drove a prone Jason Pominville into the boards. The hit resulted in Pominville skating woozily to the bench, as Byfuglien was assessed a minor for boarding and escorted into the penalty box.

Could Byfuglien be hearing from the NHL Department of Player Safety as a result of the hit?

Minnesota Wild forward Jason Zucker is a tremendously fast skater and he also has a quick release. He does pretty much everything at warp speed.

The Winnipeg Jets found that out the hard way on Sunday evening, when Zucker pounced promptly on a loose puck in the neutral zone off of the opening faceoff and rushed into the Jets zone. He walked Jacob Trouba with a lovely move and beat Michael Hutchinson to open the scoring. The entire sequence too just 10 seconds.

2016 Draft - PCS Preseason Rankings - Part 3 - Curious Case of Max Jones

In the first two parts of this series on 2016 draft eligible prospects, I focused on prospects whose performance as a 16-year-old was so off the charts that they did not have historical peers and players whose PCS scores were so high that they suggest a very high likelihood of future success. However, one of the most valuable attributes of PCS is when you see a highly rated prospect whose performance so far does not seem to match his scouting rank. 

There was no bigger disconnect between the scouting ranking and actual production than for the London Knight's Max Jones, so I thought it would be worthwhile to dig into this a bit further.

Dustin Byfuglien hates the new 3-on-3 overtime format: 'It's stupid'

Not everyone on the Winnipeg Jets is a fan of three-on-three overtime hockey.

Specifically Dustin Byfuglien, who was critical of the new format, calling it a 'terrible part of hockey' following the Jets' 4-3 OT loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
