Do the Jets play down to their competition? Why is it that they seem to play well against the best teams?
These questions have been asked about the Winnipeg Jets, and it is neither the first or last time either. Team performance in both consistency and playing to their opponent is a fairly common concern throughout all fan bases.
Let's take a look at this after the jump.

One step forward, and one step back.
That was the story of both the game and also the Jets past four games, continuing their win one, lose one pattern.
The Winnipeg Jets dominated the visiting Chicago Blackhawks for the first ten minutes. It was a masterpiece. They held their opponents to one shot against for the first half of the first. An unfortunate penalty from Dustin Byfuglien put the Jets on the penalty kill and Andrew Shaw scored the games opening goal in the first.
The second period was all Jets, outshooting the Hawks 15-8 and outscoring 3-1 with two goals from Byfuglien, one from Blake Wheeler, and one from Brad Richards.
The Jets continued their strong play in the third, but somehow two slipped by, including the game winner with 31 seconds left in the game.
Let's break it down.

Time heals all wounds.
That's been the case for the Winnipeg Jets as they continue their push for the playoffs Sunday night against the Chicago Blackhawks at MTS Centre.
With the Jets having won six of its past seven games, there has been no real urgency to rush injured forwards Bryan Little and Mathieu Perreault back into the lineup sooner than expected.
The Jets (39-24-12) hold the second wild-card spot in the West with 90 points -- three ahead of the Calgary Flames.
