It would have been unbelievable a few months ago, but it just a few days out, it's very possible that Russian-born defenseman Ivan Provorov may be the first defenseman off of the board at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

The well-rounded, if somewhat undersized defender possess a solid two-way game and high-end offensive instincts. Though he's a choppy skater, there's no denying his speed and his dynamic ability to rush the puck. One wonders if he might be able to add an additional gear with the right skating coach, and that's a frightening thought indeed.

Provorov checks in at #9 on our list, read on past the jump!

Still PCS offers some interesting insight on how players who are of similar age, height, and scoring in the same league did in making the NHL.

With the draft nearing we thought we'd break down Kevin Cheveldayoff and the Winnipeg Jets previous draft selections and how they did relative to what was immediately available.

We continue our series with the Jets second turn, the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

If you're looking for a mock draft or a feature on a prospective first round pick, I'm sorry to disappoint you. I'm terrible at mock drafts so I won't even attempt at predicting what the NHL draft will look like. Yes, Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel will be the top two picks. After that, anything can happen. Also, there are enough profiles on prospects out there. (Read Garret Hohl's draft prospect profiles. They're very good.)

This is about the the growing importance of the later rounds of the NHL entry draft and how it affects the Jets.
