Whenever you get a new toy, it is always fun to play with.
Goals Above Replacement is a statistic developed by the good fellows at WAR-on-Ice. It combines penalty differentials, shot differentials, individual shooting effectiveness, and face offs, estimates their impact in terms of goals, and than places that relative to a replacement level player.
Let's take a look on which players had the best seasons for the Jets in GAR.

The Winnipeg Jets have traded their hockey gear for golf clubs with the season's end. With the end of the playoffs for the Jets comes a look to the future, like the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. The Jets first three selections are looking more and more like they will be the 17th, 24th, and 47th picks.
Corey Pronman released his Top 100 Prospects for the 2015 Draft. If you have the cash (it is for ESPN insiders only), I highly suggest you check it out. For me, Pronman's work on draft and prospects has made having an insider account worth it. (No, I don't receive commission)
Looking at prospects is one of my favourite parts of hockey.
Let's take a look at which players Pronman rates closest to the Jets selections.

I have taken the last few days to scrape, pull, and parse some data in preparation for Jets Nations' season review and also prospect series.
While doing so, I have noted an extremely odd similarity between Alexander Burmistrov and Adam Lowry in their on-ice impact.
It is not abnormal for two players to perform similarly, but it is interesting due to the difference in perception of performance by the audible general masses (at least over social media).
Let's take a look at the similarity while also introducing a few of the numbers we will be using in our end of season player evaluations.

Any time you're mentioned in the same breath as Mark Messier, you know you're in good company.
That's the case for Winnipeg Jets captain Andrew Ladd, who is one of three finalists announced for the Mark Messier Leadership Award. Ladd is nominated alongside Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks and Ryan Getzlaf of the Anaheim Ducks.
Let's take a look after the jump.

The Winnipeg Jets have announced the name and logo of their new AHL affiliate as the Manitoba Moose.
The design is the same as the older AHL franchise that played out of the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, but with an updated colour scheme matching the current Winnipeg Jets palette.
There were a few other announcements as well on the new team. Click past the "read more" jump for further details.
