We are still trying to deal with the recent loss of Rick Rypien and with the feelings still far too fresh in our minds comes another horrible tragedy. Our condolences from the Nation’s go out to Wade Belak’s family, friends, and former teammates. It truly has been a horrible and cruel summer for the hockey fraternity.

The TV is useful for many things, including watching 82 regular season Jets games.

There are few things in life I love more than the Winnipeg Jets (the original go around) and Iron Maiden. When I was a teenager, the list of things I loved apart from those two was dramatically shorter. So when a story dropped earlier this week my personal summer of love was complete! Chris Mason wearing a mask inspired by Eddie from the Aces High single? Seriously?!?

The Hockey news recently unveiled the latest in their on-going series of regular season predictions. Today the 13th place position was posted and the Winnipeg Jets are the “lucky” recipients of that number. You can find the article here.

Last night I received a call from my Brother in law asking me if I had heard about Rick Rypien, which I had not. For some reason I had no desire to be on the computer last night and instead I went to the gym and then flicked between baseball and football. When I received the news, a shot of fear went through me that I can’t describe. I had never met the player, honestly I wouldn’t know him if had passed him on the street. No the reason for my discomfort had nothing to do with him really, and more to do with me…
