Jacob Trouba's NHL break has just been extended by a few days.
The verdict is in from the NHL Department of Player Safety and as expected, Jacob Trouba has been suspended two games for his reckless hit on Mark Stone of the Ottawa Senators.
This means the Jets defender will miss Tuesday night's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, as well as thanks to the week long player's break the following Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild. Trouba will not be eligible to join the Jets lineup until their contest Friday, March 3rd against the St. Louis Blues.

48 hours ago, the Jets were coming into the weekend thinking a couple of strong games would keep them right in the thick of the playoff race.
Now coming off a second loss in a row in as many nights - this time a 4-1 dropped game to the Tampa Bay Lightning - that faint sound you hear in the distance may not be the roar of playoff crowds, but the rumble of another tank effort...

Put the brooms away.
It's like your grandpa used to tell you: "Kid, you may beat the Chicago Blackhawks five times in a season, but you'll never beat them six."
The Jets understood this which can only explain why they came out so sluggish in the first period and couldn't play catchup the rest of the way, falling to the Hawks 5-2

Having gotten over the seemingly mountainesque task that was winning three games in a row, the Jets now look to win four in a row in Denver against the woeful Colorado Avalanche.
Somewhere Admiral Ackbar is yelling something about a trap... Whatever that means.
